Title 3 Software

I have and use many programs that let me do complicated things quickly.
I sometime load a data or word processing file into a different program, because I have special features that I can do in that program. So I move data around to get things done, rather then be limited by any one program.  I often work on data base files with word processor, but put them back in MS Access data base program.

I keep the work, the files, the data always on the D partition, although I use programs kept on the E partition.  I don't keep the data with the program. The data constantly changes, and I back it up. The program doe snot change so I don't bother to back it up.

When other people also get and or have access to these same programs, then they too can help me quickly and easily.

I know what my software can do, and I use strategies to work through files, folder, documents, images, etc. to get things in a form that I can give or show others, like on my web site.

The easiest way of other to use my software is to come to my home and use one of my computers.  Another way is for me to send or give someone a computer with the software already on it. then I just have to teach the software, but don't have to go to the trouble to install and or set it up.

I have particular ways that I set up software, putting
- Windows Operating System on C Partition, - Data on D, - Software on E Drive partition.

This makes it quick & easy to back up & restore - so you don't lose files, work, or thoughts !

I can set up my own computer easily, but it is hard for me to go out and or by phone, set up computers for other people.  Many pretend their computer are OK, but sometimes they get a virus and or the computer crashes or loses things.  I don't want my effort lost because of some computer problem.

To that end, I have run many computers 9 years without any problems, because I first get the computer set up so they are easy to back up and maintain.  Your time, my time, they are precious.  We don't want to spend all our time and money having some technician getting our computer fixed, removing viruses and looking for lost files. Those guys cost real money.

When you first get your computer set right, like I do, then you can keep it running, working without error and should any problem occur, you just bring back the back up.

I do not mix the operating system, the software and the data, I keep them all separate so no problem from one can harm the other.

Here are some programs that I use and that I have on a spare computer:

Total Commander - find, view, edit, print any file from any where, move or copy to media players, thumb drives, to back-up.  Find anything quickly and easily by name, contents, date or any criteria. This one program is the way I think and how I can manage so much information so easily. It is free down load from internet, but can be made better to pay a fee and or add plug ins.  I have written short instruction lists of some features that i use all the time.

I have put 50 ? programs and or files on single keystrokes so I can get to them much faster then mouse clicking thru the start menu tree.

MicroSoft Office 2003: Word, Access (database), Excel, PowerPoint, Front Page (write web sites)

OmniPage - looks at scanned pages (pictures) and reads the words to make word processing files.
