General-post Office ... Box             Brilliant from Kermit:    03/08/2020

As you know, I use

General-post Office, Box 146

c/o Postmaster

Madison, Maine 017#2-9998

The comma after General-post Office separates it as a distinct entity, then Box 16 is contained within that distinct entity.

Then c/o Postmaster gives the Postmaster the responsibility to deliver the mail through the General-post Office entity, to the box which he is obliged to do by treaty outside USPS.

The ZIP+4 used is reserved for the Postmaster, so even though the address contains a zip, it is actually to the Postmaster, and not to Kermit, the man.l.

Rural carriers are the ones providing a benefit to postal patrons. They were not part of the original Post Office structure. Postmasters and clerks are, which are tasked to deliver to PO boxes.

Also, the dash between General and post makes it distinctly not Post Office Box which should accomplish defeating any copyright trade mark, etc
