What you can do with a computer and why.

Evolution of language, thought, and action.

People: talk, write, type, use computers.

They look, watch, perceive, hear, touch and feel.  They think of things they have seen in planning what they will do.  As they experience and learn, they are dependent on their memory.  They talk to others of what they know and remember. They also can listen and learn.

Computers can mimic and expand these behaviors.

You can see something and write it down, type, print, send or e-mail a letter, a description, a request, or a question.

Computers can record: what you write, what you say, what you hear & see - audios, photos & video.  You can edit your work, and send it on.

Regardless of all the things you can do on a computer, I think the most important is that you expect the computer to remember, repeat what you have given it to do..  It can be like a loyal secretary, expanding both what you do and remembering things you have done.

I often dig up an old project I did, and revise it to suit a current need.  Because I can easily find my old files, I can use them for new work, rather then starting all over again.

Some rely on a partner, associate, parent, spouse to organize and keep their records and find things for them.
Nothing can be more useful then computers to manage your work.

Regardless of the form; typing, graphics, photos, sound or video files,
a computer can manage them easily, to perceive (input/ receive) and to remember so you can find it, view it, print or send it.

Computers can remember tomes of information and make it quickly, easily, and inexpensively available.

Some buy a computer, perhaps a printer or on line access to the internet and or e-mail.  They may enhance their computer with software, but the primary use, diversity, benefit comes when you learn how to use your computer and software.

You can expand your use and learn more of your software from courses, books, people, or just experimenting.

Most people own, have bought, many features they have never learned to use. Whether you pay for a course or buy a book, learning what and how to use your computer can be the most expansive of your investment.

Even a simple computer is quite useful in ability, diversity and dexterity

Expecting your computer to remember what you have done, what you own, who you know, & other references, it is best to learn how to find things on your computer.  Total Commander simplifies & speeds that .

Learning is the key.

You can do far more, faster and easier when you learn how to use your computer.  Investing in software, expanding your uses, is also good, but best when you learn and practice what your software can do.

Many people own computers and software, and fancy cameras and phones, but never really learn how to use the features that they have.

Learn that you have features, then learn how to use them.
Practice using the features so you remember you have them.

Only what you remember, can you use !

Learning, comprehension is the beginning, but what you do not practice, or use, you will forget.  I have learned & use 100s of different programs, so I can speed through projects at a fraction of the effort, time, cost that others require to do the same work.  I use to have a staff of 6 people, but now I do far more with the aid of my computers.  The work is more controlled by me, more precise, more diverse and articulated.

Good Computing to you !

My free book, A New Reality, www.abodia.com/t/Book
also discusses the process & benefit of learning.

At the foundation of learning is words and terms.
If you don't know the words, you cannot get the benefit.
Beyond terms, comes strategies, practice, then the finished projects.
